Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides statutory rights for those requesting information together with a strong enforcement regime. A copy of the Act is available from the HMSO Website: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/36/contents
A copy of the explanatory notes published with the Act is also available on their site.
Under the terms of the Act, any member of the public can apply for access to information held by bodies across the public sector, including Parliament, Government departments, local authorities, health trusts, doctors’ surgeries, publicly funded museums and many other organisations.
The Council’s Publication Scheme
Perton Parish Council has adopted the Model Publication scheme as approved by the Information Commissioner.

The Parish Council has also produced a “Guide to Information” which specifies what information the Council will routinely publish, in what formats that information will be available, and whether the Council will charge for providing the information and if so the level of charge.

If you are seeking information which is listed in the Guide to Information and cannot find it on our website, please email clerk@pertonparishcouncil.gov.uk and we will respond to you within 20 working days and either provide you with the information, or tell you where and how the information is publicly available.
